“I have worked with Bob in many ways over the past 10 years. We both worked together in Rational product management on Rational Rose in 1999, then Bob joined me as an evangelist successfully bringing the new Rational Rose Data Modeler product to market. As an evangelist, Bob did whatever he needed to do to make the product launch and adoption a success. This included spending weekends writing a training class even though it wasn’t part of his role because others were unable to do it and he knew that it must be done. Bob later reported to me as a Solutions Marketing Manager. In this role, Bob continued his great work breaking new ground for Rational, now under the IBM umbrella and for the first time, our group was building out, not just product marketing, but true “solutions”. Bob lead the way by building out solutions based on the financial services industry.
